LICENSED ATHLETIC TRAINER

An athletic trainer is a person who meets the qualifications set by a state licensure and/or the Board of Certification, Inc. and practices athletic training under the direction of a physician. Nearly 70% of athletic trainers hold a masters degree or higher level of education.

PERSONAL TRAINER

A personal trainer is a person who prescribes, monitors and changes an individual’s specific exercise program in a fitness or sports setting.

A physical therapist is a person who has earned a doctorate of physical therapy from a Commission on Accreditation education program and passes a state licensure exam.

  • PASSES PATIENTS DOWN TO PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANTS

  • ONLY REQUIRE A CERTIFICATION TO PEFORM DUTIES

  • CANNOT EVALUATE OR DIAGNOS INJURIES

  • CANNOT PRESCRIBE EXERCISES FOR REHABILITATION

  • CANNOT UTILIZE ADVANCED THERAPY TOOLS SUCH AS E-STIM, MASSAGE, CUPPING, OR ULTRASOUND.
