STRENGTH TRAINING

The sense of strength and control of your body is a remarkable feeling. However, often times, pain and injury from improper form stop us from getting there. At Brain Meets Brawn we teach several forms of safe, effective strength training with our personal training and sports medicine programs. Being strong is much more than throwing around weights. It is an ability to control, stabilize, and move weight consistently and with purpose. Below you will find three different ways we teach individuals to get STRONG!

Make consistent progress with your Squats, Deadlifts, Shoulder Press, & Bench Press. We will evaluate your form for sufficient joint stability, symmetry, range of motion, and overall control of weight. This will dramatically decrease the risk of injury allowing you to keep showing progress session over session.

TRADITIONAL WEIGHT LIFTING

01

At Brain Meets Brawn, you cannot lift weights unless you can control your body first. Our calisthenics program is inspired by gymnastics strength training (not including flips and twirls) and is the number one way to learn how to move and sense your body. Begin with the basics, then, progress your way through more complex moves!

  • Pull-Up

  • Push-Up

  • Planks

  • Plyometrics

  • L-Sit

  • Ring Dip

  • Muscle-Up

  • Handstand

CALISTHENICS MASTERY

02

The core is the foundation of our program (pun intended). We understand the importance of a strong core and, more importantly, the difficulty that some may have achieving it. Our core and pelvic floor strengthening program has a wide range of exercises and progressions from learning an abdominal draw-in, performing a 60-second plank, or repping hanging leg raises. Finally, we believe the core is more than just your abs! You will learn to move and strengthen your:

  • Shoulder Blades

  • Spinal Segments

  • Low Back Muscles

  • Ribcage

  • Pelvis

  • Obliques

  • Transverse Abdominals
